“Touch of Healing” Event: Support and Healing for Widows of Heroes
In collaboration with the NGO Lagerta, Mission Ukraine sponsored the Touch of Healing retreats at a picturesque countryside complex near Kyiv. These retreats are specifically designed to support and heal the widows of fallen heroes.
Over two days, attendees engage in a variety of therapeutic activities, including art therapy, family systemic therapy, body-oriented practices and mindfulness sessions. Each of these methods is carefully selected to help the women transition from their roles as wives to widows, increase their psychological resilience and provide a safe environment for emotional expression.
Retreats are led by leading psychologists: Dr Oksana Korolovych, a trauma therapist and president of the NGO International Women’s Community ‘Lagerta’ and herself a widow of a fallen hero, and Anna Borodina, a child and family psychologist and certified trainer. Their expertise and compassionate guidance are instrumental in creating a transformative experience for the participants.
These gatherings mark a significant milestone on the road to healing and recovery. Each woman rediscovers parts of herself and gains new strength to move forward in life. We are proud to support these women on their journey of recovery. Together we create a space for new beginnings and inner peace.
Together we can!
