Mission Ukraine Goes OFFLINE: A Night of Common Ground in London
We extend our sincere thanks to Howard Lewis, whose personal generosity made this evening possible and allowed our work to remain fully focused on those we serve.
On April 16, Mission Ukraine gathered an invitation-only group of 90 guests in London for an evening dedicated to connection, culture, and conversation. Hosted at the historic Savile Club, the event created space to step away from headlines and engage more directly with the human dimension of Ukraine’s reality today.
The evening also highlighted Mission Ukraine’s ongoing work in psychological rehabilitation, burnout prevention, and reintegration support for veterans, medical professionals, and families affected by the war.
We thank our partners Villa Tinta and Ukrainian Wine Company UK for supporting the charity event.
At the heart of the evening was not a formal programme, but a carefully created environment for meaningful exchange.
In a setting intentionally free from digital distraction, guests were encouraged to engage directly—with each other and with the realities being discussed. Conversations unfolded organically, moving from introduction to reflection, and in many cases toward concrete ideas and future collaboration.
This reflects the broader intention behind the OFFLINE format developed by Howard Lewis. Such gatherings do not seek to generate attention for a single moment; rather, they help sustain engagement over time. They reconnect existing networks, strengthen relationships, and create the conditions in which support can continue beyond the event itself.
What may appear informal is, in practice, highly functional: a space where people, perspectives, and resources align.
The cultural programme complemented this atmosphere. Guests were introduced to the restored works of Dmytro Bortniansky, a composer whose legacy forms part of Europe’s shared classical heritage.
As Nataliya Lukyanova noted during the evening:
“In a world where Ukraine is often reduced to headlines and numbers, it is important to create spaces where people can connect on a human level. ‘Offline’ is not about stepping away – it is about coming closer, understanding more deeply, and recognising what unites us.”
“Mission Ukraine Goes OFFLINE” was made possible through the personal sponsorship of Howard Lewis.
His support allowed us to bring this evening to life while ensuring that 100% of Mission Ukraine’s resources remain directed where they are needed most: in our rehabilitation and therapy programs for veterans, medical professionals, and families affected by the war.
While the setting was exceptional, it was the level of engagement that defined the evening—open, focused, and grounded in shared purpose.
Events like this are not an end point. They are part of a broader effort to build understanding, strengthen relationships, and sustain long-term support for those whose lives have been directly impacted.
What begins as conversation does not remain in the room. It continues through the relationships formed, the ideas developed, and the actions that follow.
We are grateful to everyone who joined us and contributed to an evening that was not only memorable, but meaningful in its intent and impact.
