Equine-assisted therapy: a veteran’s path to recovery
On April 9, 2025, we launched a new phase of support for our heroes — the Veteran Path project. This initiative focuses on reintegration, psychosocial support, and mental recovery for Ukrainian veterans. The Mission Ukraine Foundation, in partnership with the Shevchenkivskyi District State Administration of Kyiv, officially launched the Veteran Path social project — a hub for growth, support, and opportunities.
Our goal is to create a space where veterans can:
- receive psychological support
- find understanding and solidarity
- learn new skills and professions
- develop their own entrepreneurial initiatives
Our first event took place in collaboration with EquiRehab NGO — we organized a one-day equine-assisted therapy program for veterans at Solomakha Ranch.
It was much more than simply a day with horses; it was a process of decompression, emotional healing, and a journey toward inner peace. Through connecting with animals, body-oriented practices, and the support of professional psychologists, participants experienced a profound emotional reset.
And we are only getting started! 💛💙
Mission Ukraine Foundation has launched an open fundraising campaign to expand the Veteran Path program and is applying for international grant competitions.
